Over the last ten years, the media landscape has changed dramatically. Social media apps and filmmaking tools have become a fundamental part of our digital lives. Young people learn, socialize, explore their identities and engage with the world using their screens. Media literacy is now a basic literacy. In response to these developments, Film Crew Club offers hands-on classes in which we work with cameras, iPads and smartphones to explore animation and live action filmmaking. Students get a chance to act, direct, script, film, animate (2D & 3D), edit (iMovie), and create special effects in a wide range of media formats. Our media teams edit the material created in class and screen the final films each week to students. This creates a dynamic feedback loop that empowers learning. By making media together, students learn, first hand, how to look at it critically and how to engage with it safely and respectfully. Classes include playful exercises and games in which students learn to spot fake images, assess online content for risk, learn how editing and AI tools manipulate imagery and differentiate between authentic and sponsored content. All equipment is provided by us. Parents are sent links to online portfolios so they can view, read about and download the films made in class. Our policy is to fast-track beginners in the basics and to challenge more experienced students with new and exciting media projects.

Manuela Maiguashca is a British documentary filmmaker, activist and educator working and living in NL. She has taught filmmaking and media studies for over 15 years in a wide range of educational programmes. She is a visiting lecturer at the London Film Academy and founder of Film Crew Club as a media-mentoring program for youth.

Welcome to Guitar Club: Advanced! For students who can already play guitar and are motivated to take their skills to the next level. Priority will be given to students with Guitar Club experience. What we offer In this group, we’ll dive into more complex songs while putting a greater emphasis on interaction and creativity. Students will explore the art of musical collaboration, learning how to listen and respond to others in a group setting. Along with mastering more demanding techniques, they'll also gain valuable teaching skills, preparing them to share their knowledge, whether with bandmates or through their own guitar lessons. Tennis Learn tennis with Higgins Tennis on the perfect sized mini-tennis court that is just the right size for learning how to play! They provide the racket, softer and larger low-bouncing balls and teach children all the stroke fundamentals including: forehands, backhands, and the basics of rallying. Children then incorporate their skills into games like "Catch the Mice", "Feed the Monkeys", "Skyball", and "Castle". At the end of each session, the kids earn a medal! Classes are run by Higgins Tennis Pros. Club Owner, William Higgins runs Higgins Tennis in Amsterdam and in the S.F. Bay Area. He played on the ATP tour and has trained hundreds of teaching pros and thousands of students. His games-based curriculum is loved by students from all over the world.
