3:15 PM - 4:30 PM

September 22 - February 09

Club: Drama (Group 1-4)

Cost: €323.00

Monday Drama classes at Sandcastle Campus are fun packed.

Your children learn stagecraft and theatre skills while building on their natural ability to express creative ideas and think on their feet. The class adopts a playful, but structured approach. Children develop an understanding of how to perform and communicate ideas and stories, through language movement and song to an audience. The class also teaches your child the value of teamwork on stage, how to support their fellow actors while building their own focus. The lessons also involve components of musical theatre. As well as building young actors, Drama club provides excellent support to language development, literacy skills and self confidence.

The club leader, Rachel. Stewart has extensive experience as a writer, director and coach of children's theatre, as well as being an experienced performer and improviser herself. Rachel founded the Active children's theatre group 11 years ago and has since mounted around thirty children's performances in theatres around Amsterdam. Rachel places great emphasis on developing each child, ultimately even writing parts that extend and challenge them, while playing to their strengths. The Shows that the children perform in term 2, are mostly written by Rachel, and are tailored to every child's ability level. Rachel and her production team offer a tailor made approach to children's theatre.

Chess lessons for all levels

Always wanted to learn the best game in the world? Join the chess club!

Playing chess is not only great fun, but it’s the best brain training you can find. During this course you will enhance your level of concentration, patience, and strategic insight. You will practice in planning (thinking before doing) and build your confidence. All these skills may come in handy in other parts of your life as well.

The chess lessons are provided by Schaakplezier. We have several qualified chess trainers and assistants. During the lessons we use the booklets of the Fun-with-Chess-method. So what can you expect during a chess-class? We will start with a brief introduction of today’s topic, followed by working in the booklet. After all that theory, it’s time to put that theory into practice: by playing actual games of chess.

We are able to customize each chess lesson to the level of the children participating in the class. This way, the chess lessons will always be exactly challenging enough for students.

Summary: a customized chess club for all levels of chess players with multiple qualified chess trainers and assistants.
