Atelier of Making (group 1-5)

3:15 PM - 4:30 PM

March 05 - June 25

Club: Atelier of Making (Group 1-5)

Cost: €319.00

Atelier of Making is the afterschool program of PlayWithArt, where we create meaningful artistic experiences. Children explore materials, express their ideas, and grow through hands-on creativity. We focus on nurturing each child’s imagination, supporting their unique ideas, and guiding them through the development and execution of their creations. We believe that every child is an artist when they are given time, space, and meaningful materials.

Our approach is inspired by Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Freinet, and Waldorf, valuing both process and product, imagination and craftsmanship. We aim to create a space where creativity grows naturally and where children not only learn techniques but also develop confidence, autonomy, and a love for making.

Activities We Offer
Our afterschool club classes include a rich variety of artistic experiences tailored to each
developmental stage.
These activities are designed to encourage creativity, exploration, and meaningful
engagement with materials.
•    Drawing – lines, shapes, composition, visual storytelling
•    Painting – colors, textures, tools, layering
•    Collage & Mixed Media – papers, fabrics, textures, found objects
•    Printmaking – monoprints, stamp-making, patterns
•    3D Projects – cardboard, recycled materials, wood, building techniques
•    Modeling – clay, dough, plaster, sculpting

This program is led by the same WOW Family Center team who previously delivered the Little Makers creative classes at your school. We are simply continuing with our new creative program.

Chess lessons for all levels

Always wanted to learn the best game in the world? Join the chess club!

Playing chess is not only great fun, but it’s the best brain training you can find. During this course you will enhance your level of concentration, patience, and strategic insight. You will practice in planning (thinking before doing) and build your confidence. All these skills may come in handy in other parts of your life as well.

The chess lessons are provided by Schaakplezier. We have several qualified chess trainers and assistants. During the lessons we use the booklets of the Fun-with-Chess-method. So what can you expect during a chess-class? We will start with a brief introduction of today’s topic, followed by working in the booklet. After all that theory, it’s time to put that theory into practice: by playing actual games of chess.

We are able to customize each chess lesson to the level of the children participating in the class. This way, the chess lessons will always be exactly challenging enough for students.

Summary: a customized chess club for all levels of chess players with multiple qualified chess trainers and assistants.

The Science Club (group 3-7)

3:15 PM - 4:30 PM

March 05 - June 25

Club: The Science Club (Group 3-7)

Cost: €336.00

Club Description

The Science Club workshops help children turn scientific ideas into everyday activities through exciting, hands-on experiments using simple ingredients found around your home. While centred on chemistry, the programme also introduces important concepts from across the sciences. By weaving together science, the visual arts, and music, the workshops spark curiosity through a creative, multidisciplinary approach. In the first semester, students explore essential scientific principles; in the second, they discover real-world applications that bring science to life, deepening their understanding of how it connects to the world around them.

Experiencing science and technology is fascinating and fun—and yes, you can try it at home!

About the Club Leader

My name is Inrainí Ramos Salabarría. For the past 15 years, I have developed and led these engaging workshops for primary school children in chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, and computer science. I hold a Master’s degree in Engineering with a specialisation in plastic transformation, and bring scientific expertise in polymer research as well as practical experience in engineering and the software industry. Through hands-on activities using everyday materials, I foster curiosity and guide students toward a deeper understanding of how science works in everyday life — and beyond. Inspired by my own child’s passion for learning and discovery, I strive to make science both captivating and meaningful.
