Wednesday at the South Campus
Drama (group 1-4)
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
March 04 - June 24
Club: Drama (Group 1-4)
Cost: €323.00
Wednesday Drama classes at South Campus are fun packed. Your children learn stagecraft and theatre skills while building on their natural ability to express creative ideas and think on their feet. This term, there will also be an opportunity to perform in a musical retelling of ‘the Hare and Tortoise’ in a theatre in Amstelveen. This event will take place towards the end of term. As the performance falls outside the normal lesson times listed, there is a small additional cost for theatre tickets and the dress rehearsal to cover theatre hire and costumes for those children joining the final performance. For more information contact Rachel Stewart. The classes themselves follow a rehearsal format for this show, where the children learn lines, songs and dances. In this process they develop an understanding of how to bring a story from the page to the stage. The class teaches your child performance skills and the value of teamwork, all while building their own ability to focus. Drama club provides excellent support to language development, literacy skills and self confidence.
The club leader, Rachel. Stewart has extensive experience as a writer, director and coach of children's theatre, as well as being an experienced performer and improviser herself.
Rachel founded the Active children's theatre group 11 years ago and has since mounted around thirty children's performances in theatres around Amsterdam. Rachel places great emphasis on developing each child, ultimately even writing parts that extend and challenge them, while playing to their strengths. The Shows that the children perform in term 2, are mostly written by Rachel, and are tailored to every child's ability level.Rachel and her production team offer a tailor made approach to children's theatre.
If you have any questions about Drama and your child please contact Rachel Stewart.

March 04 - June 24
Club: Mini Coders (Group 1-3)
Cost: €358.00
Where curiosity begins and little minds start to think like programmers.
In Mini Coders, children learn the foundations of coding mostly away from screens. We use movement, stories, puzzles, and games to teach them how to recognise patterns, give clear instructions, and think step by step, all the core skills behind programming.
Once they’ve mastered the idea in the real world, they get a short, guided session on ScratchJr to bring their ideas to life. Think of it as digital storytelling with purpose... calm, structured, and supervised.
Screens are used sparingly and intentionally:
• Offline first
• Short, meaningful digital moments
• Creating, not consuming
It’s coding with balance, helping children understand how their favourite apps and games work, while nurturing logic, creativity, teamwork, and confidence in a fun, active way.
“Designed for parents who want the benefits of coding without the screen battles.”

March 04 - June 24
Club: Mini Professors (Group 1-5)
Cost: €358.00
Mini Professors is the award winning science program (from the UK), inspiring a new generation through interactive classes in schools, nurseries and in parent and child classes. Our theme tune’s opening line is ‘Science is all around us’, this reflects the ethos of our classes and encourages the children to think about and to explore the world around them.
Children have a thirst for knowledge and can understand scientific principles explained in simple terms with fun hands-on experiments in which they can touch, see and hear to help them understand. Natalie van Gelder is owner of WOW Netherlands. At the WOW Family Center in Amsterdam she offers high quality programs for parents and kids.

Sewing Club (group 4-7)
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
March 04 - June 24
Club: Sewing Club (Group 4-7)
Cost: €314.00
Hello and welcome to Sewing Club, I’m Kate, the sewing club leader and I guide the students through a huge variety of hand sewing (and some weaving!) projects. Many of the students come back year after year and are always growing in their abilities. Sewing is a lifelong skill to have as well as a creative outlet for boys and girls alike…and especially all budding surgeons ;) There are many fun projects to choose from during my classes that always expand their creativity once I’ve shown them the basic skills to get them started! We will be exploring several sewing techniques whilst making useful things such as presents as well as decorative and practical items. The tactile nature of hand sewing helps strengthen the child’s hand eye coordination and provide the children with a vehicle for personal and creative expression and has proven to be a calming activity for busy minds. I’ll also be encouraging them to continue their work outside of the club so that they develop a productive activity to engage in in their free time to create independent work.
All equipment and supplies will be provided. The students are welcome to take home the items they make at the club. The club has been thoughtfully developed and planned and is run solely by myself, a well organised, experienced club leader and teacher. I began my love of making at an early age and as a young child could often be found making clothes and rooms/shops/furniture for my dolls rather than 'playing' with them. I continued this love of making and designing through to a BA (hons) degree in fashion and textiles at the University of Westminster and worked for many subsequent years in the fashion industry in London. You can find out more, including information about my school holiday workshops on my website: https://www.moozlehome.com
*Please note, sewing club is a screen free space.

The Drawing & Painting Club (group 1-7)
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
March 04 - June 24
Club: The Drawing & Painting Club (group 1-7 )
Cost: €287.00
Our Little Painters will develop drawing and painting skills to create 2-D artistic works by using various techniques and materials, such as ink, pastels, watercolors, gouache and acrylic paint on canvas.
By these art lessons children strength their fine motor skills, improve their hand-eye coordination, and enhance cognitive abilities like problem-solving and concentration. Drawing also fosters creativity, provides a powerful tool for emotional expression, and can improve confidence and patience. The main driver to achieve this skills is be encouraged be a talented, dedicated and compassionate teacher and …have a lot of fun !
It is very good and nice to learn around a cultural theme, this term is devoted to the’ Life of an Inuit’. This winter we will visit the cold and snowy plains of Alaska and discover both practical and magic thinking of the ‘Way of the Inuit’. By making art pieces about the daily life and customs of these indigenous people, our little artists will create their own collection of Inuit Art.
During this art painting club, we will:
- draw Inuit fashion copied from late 19th century black & white photos
- paint the amazing colours of the arctic lights in the sky
- set up the inventive Igloo housing constructions in aquarelle paint
- make and decorate our own funny shaman masks
- design our own traditional Inuit toys and tools
- recreate kayaks & sleds with blue eyed sled dogs
- discover the hunting traditions by making a tracking map

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
March 04 - June 24
Club: Tony’s Art Group (Group 3-7)
Cost: €269.00
We do painting, drawing, clay work, paper/card work –lots of imaginative work. You can see examples on my website, www.tonychapman-artmusic.com.
There is a relaxed atmosphere – making art is fun. I encourage self-expression and freedom in art making – I give a project as a starting point –the most important thing for me is the student’s own interpretation... I‘m always amazed and delighted to see what students come up with.
I’ve been running these groups for the last 19 years – at the British School of Amsterdam, ISA and AICS. I have a B.A. Hons Degree in Creative Arts. I am a painter and sculptor. I also teach guitar (privately and at the British School of Amsterdam) and I teach piano(privately). I am English – and have lived in Amsterdam for the last 20 years. I am also a singer/songwriter with my own band, performing in and around Amsterdam. All art materials are provided.
