These classes will offer a progression on term.one. Students will continue to build on their drama foundations and acting skills while working with scripted material. Term 2 will see students moving away from improvised scenes into an actual play. Ultimately, there will be an additional opportunity for members of this group to opt into a performance of Cinderella that will take place over a weekend in late June, in a theatre in Amstelveen.
This term, students will learn to apply their stagecraft, learn teamwork in scenes and continue to develop the character work of term one. The lessons will also involve components of musical theatre and for those choosing to join the performance there will be lines to be learned, as well as songs and dances.
The club leader, Rachel. Stewart has extensive experience as a writer, director and coach of children's theatre, she is also a seasoned performer and improviser herself.
Rachel founded the Active children's theatre group ten years ago and has since mounted twenty five children's theatre performances, as well as casting many of her students in 30 short films produced by Hans Kok productions for Nordhoff.
Rachel places great emphasis on developing each child as individuals, ultimately even writing them parts that extend and challenge them, while playing to their strengths. Shows, written by Rachel, are tailored to every child's ability level.

Rachel and her production team offer a tailor made approach to children's theatre. Her young energetic production team are all experienced performers, who are fully trained by Rachel in her methods and process. They provide excellent coaching support in vocals, dance and chore acting skills and work alongside Rachel to help realize a final end of school year production.
