The Little Artists Design Club is dedicated to introduce children to the Design world, mixing creativity and technique through 3D experimentation, learning about the Computer Aided Design world (CAD).Thanks to 3D design and printing techniques, creative minded children learn about coding and computational thinking processes. The students will learn basic design concepts, making their first steps in 3D creations and product development, from classic craft techniques to 3D pen and 3D printer solutions, we will be solving challenging activities that can help reinforce some valuable critical thinking skills.
The object is the subject! Our 3D Designers will create physical objects from their own designs. From using craft techniques to making their first steps to the computer-controlled printer and a 3D pen. These 3D tools have a wide range of applications, including manufacturing, healthcare, and art, and it has the potential to revolutionize the way that objects are designed, created, and used.In this program children will get acquainted with many resources to learn about 3D printing technologies thanks to tutorials and various educational resources. This term we will focus on creating small objects of use related to home and interior design: candle holders, shelves and book holders, pots for family of cactuses, piggybank, amongst other. Ruperto Herrador, a professional artist experienced in art education, will teach the club.
- Learn the 3D design process, learning how the 3D printer Works and being introduced to 3D modelling, using also crafting techniques.
- Learn how to bring their ideas and creations to life in a tangible way, which can be very rewarding.
- Be introduced to the principles of design and engineering, which can be useful for future careers.
- Develop valuable skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Learning 3D printing can also help children develop an understanding of the value of recycling and sustainability, as they can use 3D printing to repurpose and reuse materials.
